The Orioles continue their full-on assault of my soul. Their mission? Make me totally ignore this blog and baseball as a whole by June 1st. While their effort has been commendable, they don’t know who they’re up against. I take a beating and keep getting up better than Dwayne Wade. Just ask my ex-girlfriends.
If someone started the fire Sam Perlozzo website, can we PLEASE get a savvy web designer to start a trade/demote/designate for assignment Danys Baez ? He’s absolutely terrible and it’s actually shocking and predictable at the rate that he can blow a game. It did so in under a minute Thursday night. I timed him. The things I do for this blog.
Meanwhile the same old story keeps getting ink: inconsistency. In the past ten games the Orioles have scored 31 runs. That’s just over 3 runs a game. They’ve given up 35 runs during this ten game span as well. That’s almost a wash. Yet they’ve gone 3 – 7. How do you explain this? Danys Baez is a start. He has three of the losses over this span. You know how some pitchers in baseball are hard-luck losers? Baez has earned each and every one of these losses. You can’t blame it all on one guy though (or can you?). There’s got to be something else…
I don’t know. I’m going to take some time to think about it though and I’ll get back to you
What’d you think – I was going to be able to solve the world’s problems in one fell swoop? I just spent all day yesterday splitting an atom and then curing cancer. The Orioles inability to see that Danys Baez is at best right now a batting practice pitcher is not on my to-do list. It’s not on their’s either apparently.
We dropped another close one last night to Danny Haren and the A’s, 3 – 2. No man puts more fear in opponents eyes than Alan Embree. He came in a shut the door on the O’s after Kevin Millar homered in the 8th make it a one-run game. The O’s fell a season high six games under .500.
- Apparently Mark Teixera might become an O at some point. I’m not holding my breath.
From the I’m not a 400 lb. loser with acne file: Remember that “hottie blogger” contest I entered a while back. While I am still not sure if I made the field, a quote of mine was featured on the site. You can click here to check it out or just read below:
“My main goal is simply to break my single day hit record of 12. Be sure to describe me as ambitious during the contest.”
Until next time (probably tomorrow), be good kiddies. Oh yeah, be sure to catch game two of this thrilling three-game set as Brian Burres takes on Joe Kennedy. If you’re at this game it’s guaranteed you’ll have something to tell your grandkids. You probably just won’t tell them about this game.
