The Dave Trembley era begins. No, just kidding, it already did. The O’s dropped a heart-breaker tonight in the first of a doubleheader. A pitcher’s duel that pitted Kason Gabbard and Daniel Cabrera pitch for pitch against one another was not to be this day as the Rangers scored thirty runs, yes 3 – 0 runs, and won by twenty seven; 30 – 3. Seriously. It happened. I watched it. In case you don’t believe me, the folks at ESPN took time out of their busy “pimping the Red Sox/Yankees schedule” to post the score:

Thanks guys. More Craig Hansen coverage please, if you could. And what have the Lowell Spinners been up to? That’s what inquiring minds NEED to know about. What is my favorite part of the annihilation that was game one was that the Ranger actually recorded a save in the game. That’s right! Mariano Rivera eat your heart out! Let’s see YOU work three innings for a save! Oh Littleton is hungry. Give that man a sandwich; you’ve earned it buddy.

Random thought: O’s fans know and love the “run pump.”  My friend Darren loves it especially.  Do you think that they created an “ERA pump” for this game?  Did it malfunction somewhere near 11.50?

Not much more to say about this one other than I’d like to thank the academy and myself for not starting Marlon Byrd in my fantasy league. More tomorrow on game 2…
